Reed Boggs
Reed Boggs was raised in Cleveland, Ohio.
“It’s probably the worst state to ride mountain bikes in,” he says. “There aren’t any mountains!”
Nevertheless, he fell in love with the sport the first time he rode a bike. After high school, Reed headed west to pursue his passion. For the last two years, he has competed on the Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour, snagging 2nd place awards for the downhill race and best trick in Beijing summer of 2016. Last year, he took 1st place at the “Best Whip” contest at Crankworx New Zealand and broke into the slopestyle Diamond series for the FMB World Tour ending the year with an 8th place finish at Red Bull Joyride.
“Mountain biking has transformed my life tremendously,” Reed says. “From traveling to Europe for weeks on end for competitions, to digging in the desert of Utah for the Red Bull Rampage sun up to sundown. I cherish everything that comes with the sport, but especially meeting people who share the same passion. It creates the best relationships by far.”
The long days grinding away in the desert building and riding take a huge toll, Reed says.
“CBD acts as a natural pain relief for me, so I don’t have to take over-the-counter or prescription drugs to ease aches and pains,” Reed says. “I’m also a firm believer THC/CBD creams for pain and muscle soreness.”
Reed is looking forward to another year of traveling and riding his bike in new places every month for Crankworx, FMB slopestyle events and filming. At the top of his list of goals for 2018: snagging another invite for the Red Bull Rampage to get redemption from his canyon gap crash last year.
